Additional Reports of Solicitors & Car Burglaries

We have recieved more reports of suspicious solicitors in Scripps Ranch. The solicitors are using various methods of soliciting, such as claiming to be fund-raising for a Scripps Ranch High School soccer team or a travel lacrosse team going to league playoffs in Hawaii. Please be cautious when opening your door to a stranger.

The San Diego Police Department made an arrest last Wednesday of a door-to-door salesperson who attempted a residential burglary in Rancho Bernardo.

Below are physical descriptions forwarded by members of SRCANW:

  • Two males, approximately 18 years old; 5'10" to 5'11", wearing baggy pants or jeans, sloppy t-shirts. One had long sandy brown hair to the jaw line, light skin. The other had short dark hair, bad teeth, light olive-colored skin, wearing dark zippered sweatshirt & dark knit cap.
  • White male in his twenties, short and thin build with brown hair, tattooed arms and legs, wearing shorts & large cross necklace. Claims to live in condos near Mira Mesa Blvd./Erma Road.
  • White male adult, 5'8" or 5'9", 130-140 lbs., military hair cut, black plastic framed glasses, polite. Said he is home-schooled and a military brat. Claims to live on Courtyard Drive.
  • White female adult, 5'6", 150-160 lbs., long straight stringy dirty blonde hair, wearing shorts and yellow sweatshirt, carrying weathered and worn laminated paperwork.

Car Burglaries:

We have also had a few car burglaries where the thief smashes the car window and then goes through the glove boxes and trunks. These cars were either parked in the driveway or on the street in front of the home.

Do not leave valuables in your car, even when the valuables are not in plain view.
