Prescribed Burn on East Side of I-15

The MCAS Miramar Fire Department will be conducting a prescribed burn in Camp Elliott, on the east side of Interstate 15 on Wednesday, July 16. Burning operations should begin at 1000 hrs. and end by 1400 hrs. This is a fuelbreak maintenance burn along NS-5 designed to reduce hazardous vegetation growth and enhance fire control lines. Miramar Fire Department will receive equipment and personnel support for this project from several fire agencies to include San Diego City Fire Department, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Completion of this project will be predicated on favorable weather conditions and air quality standards.
