Magazine sales scam reported in Scripps Ranch. SRCA has been alerted to a magazine sales scam going on in some Scripps Ranch neighborhoods. Scammers claim to be neighbors, with various motivations for needing to raise money for themselves. They may attempt to authenticate their identity with non-existent Scripps Ranch addresses. In the scam reported to SRCA, personal checks were being solicited for magazine sales. The scammers will take your checks, and- needless to say- you will not receive any magazines. Please use caution in dealing with door-to-door solicitors.
