The following announcement was forwarded courtesy of the Scripps Ranch Planning Group and Scripps Ranch Civic Association.

The southbound off-ramp to Mercy Road/Scripps Poway Parkway will be closed for one week starting Sunday at 9 p.m. This temporary closure is necessary to reconstruct the off-ramp as part of the ongoing Interstate 15 (I-15) Express Lanes Project. Motorists trying to access Mercy Road / Scripps Poway Parkway from southbound I-15 will be detoured to Mira Mesa Boulevard. Detailed detour instructions are provided in the attached advisory and detour signs will be in place to direct motorists around the closure. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Antoinette Meier, Caltrans Public Information Officer at 858-668-3368.

If traffic on Mira Mesa Blvd southbound off-ramp becomes overwhelmed with traffic from Scripps Poway Parkway, expect motorists to try Poway Road, Carroll Canyon Road and/or Pomerado Road.  We may experience higher than usual traffic on these streets.  The off-set of not having school in session should help.

For construction updates, questions and road closure information, log-on to

Hotline at 866-890-1397.(See attached file: Mercy Road Advisory
